What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are commonly used to make sites function and to remember preferences. Similar technologies - such as local storage - work the same way and are treated equivalently here.
How we use cookies
We minimise cookie usage. We set essential and functional cookies to operate the Service, and our default analytics is cookieless. We use analytics cookies only with your consent, which you give through our cookie banner and can withdraw at any time (see "Managing your choices" below).
Types of technologies we use
- Essential cookies - necessary for the Service to function. These include authentication/session cookies and security tokens (for example, our bot-protection service). You cannot opt out of these, as the Service cannot operate without them.
- Functional cookies - remember preferences such as language and interface settings, and your cookie choice, to improve your experience.
- Cookieless analytics (always on) - we use PostHog (in cookieless mode) and Vercel Analytics for product analytics. They are configured so that no cookies and no persistent on-device identifiers are set, and they do not track you across sites.
- Google Analytics (consent-based) - with your consent, we use Google Analytics, which sets analytics cookies to measure how the site is used. Google Analytics runs in a "denied" state by default (Google Consent Mode) and only sets cookies after you accept. If you decline, no Google Analytics cookies are set.
- Session replay (consent-based) - with your consent, we use Sentry session replay to record anonymised playback of site interactions to diagnose errors and usability issues. Text and form inputs are masked. It does not run unless you accept, starts only after you consent, and stops when you withdraw consent. If you decline, no session replay runs.
Third-party services
The following third-party services operate as part of our website/Service:
- Vercel and Amazon Web Services (CloudFront) - hosting, content delivery, and security
- Supabase - authentication
- PostHog (cookieless mode) and Vercel Analytics - cookieless analytics
- Google Analytics - consent-based analytics
- Sentry - error monitoring, and consent-based session replay
Managing your choices
When you first visit, our banner lets you accept or decline analytics cookies. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the website footer. You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings (e.g. Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge → Privacy/Cookies settings). Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the Service from working.
Changes to this Notice
We may update this Notice from time to time. Changes are reflected by updating the "Last updated" date, and material changes will be communicated through the Service.
